Governor Greg Abbott Appoints Regents to 麻豆天狼副利院

New Regents

Texas appointed two new members to the 麻豆天狼副利院 (TTU System) Board of Regents for terms set to expire on Jan. 31, 2031, Friday (March 21). Regent Dustin R. Womble of Lubbock was also reappointed for another term.

The new appointees are Doug McReaken (Pearland), chief operating officer and executive vice president of Media Riders, Inc., and Donald R. Sinclair (Houston), a private investor.

鈥淚鈥檇 like to congratulate our regents on their appointments and welcome them to the TTU System family,鈥 said Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., chancellor of the TTU System. 鈥淚 am grateful to have the continued leadership of Regent Womble and for the passion each new board member brings to our universities. I look forward to collaborating with them as we continue to grow our dynamic university system, and I also want to thank Chairman Mark Griffin and Vice Chairwoman Ginger Kerrick Davis for their dedicated service to our universities and countless contributions during their time on our board.鈥

All three appointees are subject to confirmation by the Texas Senate before officially taking the oath of office and starting or continuing their tenure on the board. Regents are appointed for six-year terms by the governor. Their first board meeting is expected to be in May, pending senate confirmation.

The newly appointed regents replace Griffin (Lubbock) and Kerrick Davis (Houston) on the TTU System board.

鈥淚t has been my distinct honor to serve on the TTU System Board of Regents and, most recently, as chairman in my final years on the board,鈥 said Griffin. 鈥淭his is a bittersweet moment but one filled with tremendous gratitude. I鈥檇 like to thank each of my fellow regents for serving beside me, as well as Vice Chairwoman Ginger Kerrick Davis for her leadership and dedication to our system throughout her term. I also wish to congratulate Regent Womble on his reappointment and welcome our newly appointed regents, who will continue the work to advance our universities and higher education across this region and our great state of Texas.鈥

Douglas M. McReaken (Pearland) has been involved in multiple successful business ventures over the past 25 years, focusing on investing, mergers and acquisitions and initial startups. He is currently the chief operating officer and executive vice president of Media Riders, Inc. (MRi) and serves as president of McReaken Enterprises, McReaken & Associates and McReaken Agriculture LLC. Prior to his current positions, he worked for Lockheed Martin as a business development executive and served as vice president for Software Decisions, Inc. (SDi).

McReaken is an investor in a number of startups and sits on the board of directors of various organizations, including serving as board chairman for Sno Country, Inc. and Texas Waste Co. and as president of the Water Meters Services, Inc. board.

McReaken graduated from TTU in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from the Rawls College and is a member of the TTU Kappa Sigma Epsilon-Phi chapter. He resides in the Houston area with his wife, Erika, and their three children.

Donald R. Sinclair (Houston) is a private investor who spent his professional career in the energy industry and currently serves on the board of directors of two energy companies. From 2009 to 2017, he served as president and chief executive officer of Western Gas Partners and was also senior vice president of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Sinclair has been associated with the energy industry for more than 40 years, focusing on marketing and trading and the midstream sector.

Sinclair is the former chairman of the Board of Directors and has served as chairman of the for the (TTU) (Rawls College). Sinclair is also a member of the in the within the . He currently serves on the executive committee of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors as a vice chairman.

Sinclair earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in management in 1980 from the Rawls College and is a distinguished alumnus of the college. His wife, Susan, also earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration management from TTU in 1981.
