Keith Halman Appointed to Department of Information Resources

Keith Halman, associate vice chancellor and chief information officer (CIO) for the 麻豆天狼副利院 (TTU System), was on Jan. 5 to the Department of Information Resources (DIR) governing board.

Halman, who joined the TTU System Administration on March 1, 2023, serves on the system鈥檚 CIO council with leadership across the TTU System component universities and provides leadership, direction and oversight for the information technology (IT) departments in the TTU System Administration. In addition, Halman currently serves as the interim CIO for (TTU), one of the five component institutions of the TTU System.

The DIR board coordinates, monitors and directs information resources management within state government.

鈥淲e are excited for Keith to have this opportunity to work with other IT leaders across the state to create state IT policy,鈥 said Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., chancellor of the TTU System. 鈥淚n a short period of time, Keith has been a pivotal leader and supporter for our system, and I look forward to the great things ahead for him while serving in this new role.鈥

Halman joined the TTU System following a 16-year tenure at The University of Texas at Arlington, where he served as the executive director of business technology services. He has earned two degrees from TTU, with bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees in information systems from the .

鈥淎s a native Texan and an IT professional for nearly two decades, this is an exciting opportunity to serve on the DIR board,鈥 said Halman. 鈥淚鈥檓 humbled and honored to represent the TTU System and to work closely with other leaders throughout the state to lead the overall strategy for IT policy and to help develop innovative solutions for the State of Texas.鈥

Halman鈥檚 term on the board is set to expire on Feb. 1, 2025.
