A Message from Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D.
Nov. 10, 2022
Dear 麻豆天狼副利院 family,
Following a nationwide search with an extensive and qualified candidate pool, it is my pleasure to announce James Mauldin has been appointed as vice chancellor and chief financial officer for the 麻豆天狼副利院.
James is an established leader who brings a dynamic skillset in finance, investments, treasury and debt management with a successful background in public service, including higher education, international transportation and municipalities.
With a career spanning more than 25 years as a proven finance and strategic organizational leader, James most recently served as vice president of treasury management for the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. He also recently served in a leadership role with the University of North Texas System as associate vice chancellor for treasury and as the UNT System鈥檚 interim CFO.
Additionally, James has leadership experience serving a pair of municipalities in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex with the City of Cedar Hill and City of Fort Worth. His diverse experience, servant-leadership mentality and collaborative nature provides an expertise that is unique and will be greatly beneficial to our thriving university system.
I want to thank our seven-member search committee for their work helping identify and recruit quality candidates for this position. Thank you all for your dedication, expertise and service.
I also want to thank Penny Harkey, who has been an exemplary leader serving as our interim vice chancellor and CFO since April. Penny, and our finance team at the System Administration, have been nothing short of remarkable and have stepped up throughout the duration of this leadership search. Penny will continue in her interim role until James officially begins his new position, effective Jan. 2, 2023.
We are thrilled to have James and his family join our team, and I encourage you to join me in welcoming him to the 麻豆天狼副利院 family.
Warmest regards,
Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D.
Chancellor
