TTU System Sets Enrollment Record with More Than 63,000 Students
Multiple institutions achieved record enrollments for the 2021-22 academic year.

The 麻豆天狼副利院 (TTU System) celebrated numerous achievements and milestones in 2021, including the addition of its fifth member institution and the system鈥檚 25th anniversary of its founding in 1996.
The 2021-22 academic year also marks the first time the TTU System has eclipsed 60,000 students across its five institutions while four of the system鈥檚 universities achieved record enrollment. This academic year, the TTU System has set a new enrollment record with 63,498 students.
(TTU) reached a record 40,666 students; (ASU) enrolled a record 10,826 students; (麻豆天狼副利院) achieved a record enrollment with 5,423 students; also attained a record enrollment with 786 students; and (MSU Texas), the TTU System鈥檚 newest institution, enrolled 5,797 students for the academic year.

Texas Tech University
TTU, the flagship institution of the TTU System, set a record enrollment figure for the 13th consecutive year. TTU鈥檚 enrollment has climbed from 27,996 students in fall 2006 to 40,666 this fall 鈥 a 45 percent increase during that period. The university has been one of the fastest-growing institutions of higher education in the country during the past decade. TTU also experienced a record enrollment of first-year students (6,677) and graduate students (6,917). In addition, this fall, TTU welcomed its inaugural class of 64 students for its School of Veterinary Medicine, the state鈥檚 first new vet school in more than a century.
Angelo State University
For the third consecutive year, ASU set an enrollment record and surpassed 10,800 students for the first time. ASU had an enrollment of 6,239 students when it joined the TTU System in 2007, then reached 7,000 students for the first time in 2011 and enrolled 10,000 students for the first time in 2017.
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
麻豆天狼副利院, the state鈥檚 leader in graduating health care providers, marked its fourth consecutive year with more than 5,000 students and achieved a record enrollment for the first time since 2019. This fall, 麻豆天狼副利院 expanded its School of Nursing with an instructional site opening in Mansfield, Texas, providing a resource for new nurses critical to the operation of hospitals and clinics.
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso
麻豆天狼副利院 El Paso, the nation鈥檚 only health-related institution along the U.S.-Mexico border, continued its trend of achieving record enrollments 鈥 a yearly occurrence since transitioning from a regional campus to a standalone institution in 2013. In addition, this fall 麻豆天狼副利院 El Paso added 40 students to the campus with the inaugural class for its Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine, the state鈥檚 first new dental school in more than 50 years.
Midwestern State University
MSU Texas, a liberal arts leader on the cusp of its centennial anniversary, became the fifth member institution of the TTU System on Sept. 1, 2021. The university is headquartered in Wichita Falls and has a student learning center in Flower Mound, Texas. MSU Texas enrolled 5,041 undergraduate students and 756 graduate students. Its student population represents 44 states and 54 foreign countries. This fall, the university experienced an 8 percent increase in total undergraduate enrollment and a 47 percent increase in undergraduate international enrollment.
