Keaghan Holt Named 麻豆天狼副利院 Student Regent

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed Keaghan Holt as the student regent for the Texas Tech University System (TTU System) Board of Regents for the 2021-22 academic year, today (June 1).
Holt, originally from Seguin, Texas, is an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in health science professions at (ASU). Holt becomes the 16th student to serve on the Board of Regents and the fourth from ASU.
鈥淜eaghan is active in virtually every facet of student life at Angelo State,鈥 said ASU President 鈥淪he is an outstanding student and leader, and we are proud she has been selected for the esteemed role of student regent.鈥
Holt, who has earned Dean鈥檚 List honors in three semesters, has served as the RAMbassadors vice president and Health Sciences Society vice president at ASU. She is a member of the ASU Cheer Team that captured multiple national championships in 2021 at the United Spirit Association USA Collegiate Championships. During her first year at ASU in 2019-2020, she was a top contributor as the ASU Cheer Team won a Band Chant national title and Situational national championship while receiving ASU Cheer Nationals MVP.
She also has served the ASU community in a leadership role in both Ram Transition and Rams Connect, where she has welcomed incoming students to campus and helped answer questions from prospective students about college life at ASU.

Mitchell, M.D., chancellor of the TTU System. 鈥淜eaghan has impressive student activity and leadership experience, and I鈥檓 confident she will be a strong representative and passionate advocate of the student population across our system.鈥
Holt will serve a one-year term, effective immediately and set to expire on May 31, 2022. Her first Board of Regents meeting will take place Aug. 5-6 in Lubbock. She replaces Brooke Walterscheid of , who was appointed in 2020.
